studying under the greatest of scholars,

a descendant of the noble lineage
that includes Nammāḷvār and Nāthamuni,
Rāmānujā and Vedāntadeśikā too,

you restored traditional yoga,
at a time India was under alien rule,
your work now, known all over the world,

author of many important works,
on a wide range of themes,
which contain the essence of Vedic teachings,

the fountainhead of different yogic traditions,
which now span across the world,
the adaptable Viniyoga in particular,
yogācārya Kṛṣṇamācārya, namaste to you!

endowed with Siddhis of mantra and yoga,
your magic hands helped many heal,
from physical, emotional and spiritual illnesses,
yogācārya Kṛṣṇamācārya, namaste to you!

though a man rooted in tradition,
you broke free from certain old customs,
and empowered women in spiritual leadership,
yogācārya Kṛṣṇamācārya, namaste to you!

you taught many from all walks of life,
and at the right time passed on the beacon,
to your noble son Deśikācārya,
yogācārya Kṛṣṇamācārya, namaste to you!

with your wife Nāmagirī, by your side,
and pupil Deśikācārya at your feet,
you dedicated your life to serve Nārāyaṇa,
yogācārya Kṛṣṇamācārya, namaste to you!

though challenged many times,
and had to start over again and again,
your faith never wavered,
yogācārya Kṛṣṇamācārya, namaste to you!

you lived with purpose, for over a hundred years,
a great example for us to follow,
you continue to shine brightly in our hearts,
